Yagua Cigars: We recently tried these cigars on a tour to Cigar City in Tampa Bay and were blown away by the complexity of these smokes. They are highly sought after in the States where only a few hand picked Brick and Morter stores are licensed to sell them. Only a small handful of UK retailers have been given the go ahead to stock them so we are very privileged to be able to offer these to our customers! The Yagua cigars are based on a traditional Cuban method that dates back to the 1940s. They were inspired by the story of Lazaro Lopez, the general manager of J.C. Newman PENSA factory in Nicaragua, who learned how to make cigars from his grandfather in Cuba. His grandfather would roll cigars with fresh tobacco leaves and tie them together with palm leaves, known as yagua, to give them a shape. He would then untie them when he wanted to smoke them, giving them their unique and rustic appearance. Lopez recreated this technique in Nicaragua, using Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers and Nicaraguan fillers, and aged the cigars for a year after rolling them. J.C. Newman Cigar Co., a family-owned company that has been making cigars since 1895, released Yagua cigars as a brick and mortar exclusive product in 2020, and reintroduced them in 2021
Yagua Toro Cigars: Yagua Toro Cigars are a very memorable and enjoyable cigar. They have a medium to full body with notes of leather, pepper, wood, chocolate, earth and dark fruits. The flavour profile is complex and varies depending on the shape and size of the cigar, as each one is unique due to the traditional rolling and bundling technique.
Loose boxed single Cigar: The Yagua Cigars are packaged loose in boxes of 20’s. We will mail a single cigar in a cardboard sleeve surrounded by protective packaging. The cigar should be enjoyed within a few days or kept in a humidor to ensure its condition and enjoyment.
Preparation: Please note the Yagua Cigars are premium hand rolled cigars and therefore require cutting or punching before they can be enjoyed.
