It is well documented that Churchwarden pipes smoke cooler than standard pipes, which is due to the extra distance the smoke has to travel. This gives the smoke more time to cool. Churchwardens are also known as Reading pipes as the bowl is kept away from the face allowing the smoker to read a book at the same time.

Churchwarden Belgique The Peterson Churchwarden Belgique is a Straight Cutty, which is a traditional shape derived from the old clay pipes. It is a small un-filtered pipe made from the finest Briar that Peterson have become renowned for. It has a smooth polished finish with a natural stain to show off the beautiful grain pattern of the Briar.

Fishtail mouthpiece: Petersons trademark patented mouthpiece is the p.lip design, which has many advantages but unfortunately some smokers just don't get on with it. The Donegal series comes with the fishtail mouthpiece as an alternative for those who don't get on with the P.Lip.
