The story of Mac Baren Tobacco Company began in Svendborg, Denmark, in 1826. Originally a small tobacco manufacturer, it was later acquired by the Halberg family. Over time, it evolved into the largest family-run tobacco business in Northern Europe. Jørgen Halberg, Einar Halberg’s son, created the famous Mac Baren blends, which remain popular among pipe smokers worldwide. In 1995, the company was renamed Mac Baren Tobacco Company in his honor. Today, it’s still family-owned and ranks as the second-largest pipe tobacco producer globally
