A bit of a shock to us but this lighter has now been discontinued. A real shame as we really like this lighter. As usual we have left the listing on our website for historical reference and interest.
Pearl Lighters: My god have we been waiting for a lighter like this to come to the UK. To say we are delighted to see the Pearl would be a major understatement. Pearl is a small Japanese family company, which was formed in 1952 and have concentrated their efforts on quality not mass market. Just the word “Japanese” usually does it for us but Pearl seem to be taking Japanese to a new level. The only comparable lighter is the Japanese Corona and with such renowned lighters as the Old boy dare we say it …………….. “we prefer the Pearl!!” The Pearl lighters are precision made with all metal internals, no cheap plastic parts in sight.
Pearl Fox Tail Pipe Lighter: The Pearl Fox Tail had instant appeal to The Black Swan Specialist Tobacconists. “A Japanese Pipe Lighter less than £100 ………… we’ll take them all” The fox tail is an ergonomic flint pipe lighter. When gripped you can open the dust cap with either your thumb or fore finger before striking the flint wheel towards you with your thumb. The lighter oozes quality with a nice weighty feel and smooth action all round. Something new we’ve never heard before is the “softer flame.” The nozzle has two openings which produces a softer flame to aid in uniformly charring the tobacco without intense heat which can damage the rim of your favourite Briar. Another innovative element of the Pearl is that the tank contains activate Carbon, this aids in a more controlled release of gas from the liquified form to reduce flare ups when the tank is just filled or near empty. If you were a fan of the Corona Old Boy (The peer of the pipe lighter world) you will love this lighter and we don’t think it will be long before the Pearl supersedes it. If you have been putting up with the likes of Ronson and Colibri you will be ecstatic. Finally a pipe lighter at a reasonable price that will be your companion for years!
Please Note Due to postal regulations introduced in 2013 we are no longer allowed to send lighters that contain gas. Your lighter will be supplied with out any gas and will therefore need filling on receipt.
