Peterson Seasoned Briar: Well they don't come much rarer than the aged collection. This time your favourite tobacconist has managed to source something really special from Peterson. From what we understand there are less than 50 of these produced worldwide as a one off production. You may well recognise some of the shapes as these are former production models. Whenever Peterson produce a limited edition pipe they keep a small stock of shaped high grade bowls in case of flawed pipes that need replacing under warranty. As you would expect Peterson don't have to cover many warranties so these are kept surplus in the back of the factory. In 2013 one of the pipe carvers noticed these bowls nicely ageing in the warehouse and decided they should be used for something special.
Peterson Straight Liverpool 03: With many years specialising in Peterson pipes the boss can't recall this shape so we assume it's of a fair old age and is likely to be one of the best seasoned Briars you will smoke from new. The bowl has been sandblasted to enhance the grain before finishing in a classy deep Black stain and contrasting nickel band to complete a truly stunning pipe. The Liverpool is a very iconic pipe for the lovers of straights and feels well balanced in the hand despite quite the generous bowl size. Peterson have managed to keep the weight down by removing some wood for a larger bore. Having such a long stem the smoke has plenty of time to cool so why not give it a good bore and provide a good rich, flavoursome smoke. Truly stunning example.
Fishtail mouthpiece: The standard mouthpiece for most pipe manufacturers. The fishtail has the exit hole in the end of the mouthpiece. The end of the mouthpiece is flat, which some people find easier to grip, and suits the smoker who doesn't get on with the p.lip style.
