Unfortunately these pipes were only limited edition and we have now sold out but as always we have left the descriptions here for historical reference and interest.
Throughout 2010 Petersons Craftsmen have been gradually picking out the finest Briar Blocks as they work through their stocks. These blocks are put to one side ready for the production of the pipe of the year. At the end of the year the reserved briar is weened down to the best 1000 blocks.
When they have enough suitable blocks they take a look through the reserved briar for inspiration. Each year a totally new shape is introduced, which always causes a stir of excitment throughout the pipe world and the 2011 Pipe of the year is no exception.

The Peterson pipe of the year 2011 is a high grade half bent with a uniquely shaped bowl. The shape is very striking and shows every aspect of the grain with an almost mirrored effect. As the varying cuts disect the grain from a different angle you benefit from every aspect of the grain pattern as they are displayed in a way that simply can't be seen from a standard rounded briar. From the uniformed blemished bullseye to a unifromed straight grain you get it all.
The pipe is finished with a hand crafted silver mount and uniquely shaped shank. It has an extra large bowl as usually found on their special pipes with a generous bore for a good fill. A good thick wall helps keep the pipe cool and therefore more enjoyable smoke. The Silver Mount is hand crafted and fitted by Petersons silver smith, which is hallmarked and proudly stamped with the Peterson logo.
Fishtail mouthpiece: Petersons trademark patented mouthpiece is the p.lip design, which has many advantages but unfortunately some smokers just don’t get on with it. The Pipe of the year 2011 comes with the fishtail mouthpiece as an alternative for those who don’t get on with the P.Lip.
