Diego Maradona Tribute Cigars The legendary Argentine football star, Diego Maradona, was an avid cigar aficionado. He picked up cigar smoking after visiting Cuba for medical treatments. Whilst there he became close friends with Fidel Castro and even had a tattoo of Che Guevara on his arm. Together with The Traveller Cigars, Maradona had planned to drop his own cigar range but didn't get to do so due to his unexpected death in November 2020. The Traveller Cigars have still chosen to release the cigars but as a tribute to the famous football player and cigar lover.
Maradona Tribute Robusto Limited to just 500 numbered boxes, The Maradona Tribute Robusto is a medium to full strength cigar made from tobaccos from Nicaragua's premier growing areas, Esteli, Jalapa and Condega, expertly paired with San Andres binder and lovingly wrapped in an Ecuadorian wrapper. Personally selected by the man himself, these unique cigars are perfect to enjoy whilst remembering the feats of one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport. Throughout, the flavour profile gives earthy spice in abundance with the Cuban seed wrapper adding a wonderful complexity. Dark roast coffee and a rich peppery cedar crescendo towards the end. The artwork on the cigars carries Maradona's name and his number 10 with which he always played. The inside of the beautiful piano lacquered black boxes of 20 cigars also has his autograph and a note on the cigars.
Preparation: Please note the Maradona Tribute cigars require cutting or punching before they can be enjoyed.
