A single, individually tubed, H.Upmann Magnum 50 Cuban Cigar!
The Upmann brand was founded in 1844 by the Upmann brothers who were two wealthy bankers with a healthy appreciation for the smoking qualities of hand rolled cigars combined with the Cuban flavour. However they found the majority of Cubans around at the time were too strong to enjoy comfortably. The Upmann was therefore introduced to fill this void and are now a household name and one of the most popular cigars in our humidors.
The appearance of the Magnum 50 really turns some heads, its double Robusto size with its Colorado wrapper and stylish red band really looks the part. The construction is very good, it has a comfortable draw and produces a satisfying, thick, white smoke. From the start there are essences of mild cedar and black pepper, which gradually progress into a smooth and creamy chocolate and coffee smoke. Then if you make it to the end still wanting more there is a good transition into a satisfying dry roasted coffee flavour. The Upmann are a mild flavoured cigar, which in general will be enjoyed by all levels of smokers but beware of the Magnum 50's heavy gauge and burn time. It is probably one of the most manageable cigars of this size but still requires a substantial commitment.
Individualy tubed: The H. Upmann tubed range of cigars are individually packaged in a cedar lined aluminium tube. As well as being decorative the Cedar lined tube also helps preserve your cigar for up to a year without the use of a humidor meaning they are always ready for that special occasion that a cigar of this quality is designed to represent. They also make ideal presents as they do not need to be smoked immediately.
Hand Rolled: The tradition of being rolled on a maidens thy can be questioned but the added quality a cigar beholds from being hand rolled by an experienced Cigar Roller cannot. Each cigar is rolled to the same density with full length filler (leaves), providing the perfect draw and ash build up, which cannot be matched by a machine.
Please note the H.Upmann cigars require cutting or punching before they can be enjoyed.
