Charles Rattray's Briar Pipes Charles Rattray's master blenders have an impeccable worldwide reputation for their unique tobacco blends and unrivalled character. You can be forgiven for not knowing that Rattray's also produce pipes as they were only released onto the general market in 2012. Their pipes were formerly reserved for exclusive sale in their Perth shop but they have answered many prayers by releasing these stunning pipes to retailers worldwide.
Charles Rattrays Pipe of the year 2014 If the picture doesn't do enough for you take our word for it the Pipe of the year is a little beauty. It is based around the ever iconic half bent Zulu shape but has been tweaked to make it more pocket friendly meaning you can show it off at the local pipe club. The more discreet length seems to balance the pipe nicely but it still has a long enough stem to give the smoke enough time to cool. The pipe is made from the stunning Briar that Rattrays are becoming renowned for and has been finished with a Silver band and simply stunning half bent, half saddle Cumberland fishtail mouthpiece.
Stunning quality Briar that we are coming to expect from Rattrays with a natural clear finish to really show of the natural grain in the Briar. The pipe is finished with a silver band
Limited Edition (only 99 made) When Charles Rattrays do limited edition they really do Limit things. Each pipe is individually numbered and Rattrays have only produced 99 of each worldwide so grab yours quick to avoid disappointment, they won't be around for long.
9mm Absorbent Filter The Charles Rattray's Pipe of the year 2014's are designed for use with the any 9mm absorbent stem filters. The larger diameter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour.
The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed all together for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
