Charatan Pipe Tobacco: Charatan is a London brand steeped in Tobacco history dating back to 1863 when Frederick Charatan, a Russian / Jewish immigrant, opened a shop in Mansell Street in London, where he began to carve Meerschaum pipes. These pipes became very popular and thus Charatan had to move premises to Prescot Street just around the corner. Here he began to make briar pipes which made the name famous the world over. Charatan was the first brand to make entirely hand-made briars from the rough block to the finished pipe including the stems.

Blended with a high proportion of sweet Black Cavendish expertly mixed with a combination of different grassy Virginia's with just a hint of nutty Burley.
