Chacom Pipes (St Claude) Chacom is a family owned company who can trace their pipe making heritage to 1825 before Briar was even discovered. They are based in St Claude which is widely recognised as the pipe making capital of the world. They are one of very few pipe manufacturers who make pipes from start to finish. From ageing the Briar right through to hand finishing.
Chacom Montparnasse 9mm Pipes The Chacom Montparnasse are named after an area of Paris renowned for being a meeting place for artists since the 18th century they are a stunning pipe featuring a contrasting high gloss dark and brown stain finished with a black acrylic band and mouthpiece. The No.88 is a Zulu shaped bowl with a slightly curved stem and 9mm filteer.
Filter Choice The Chacom Montparnasse pipes can be smoked with a condensing filter (included) or a 9mm absorbent filter. The larger diameter of a 9mm filter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour. The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
