Big Ben Pipes The Royal Dutch Pipe Factory Gubbel's and Zonen, established in 1870, is renowned for its innovative shapes and finishes, but also for the classic pipe shape. The company, appointed by the Queen of the Netherlands in 1972, handcraft its products with the greatest of care and attention, resulting in an extraordinary range of quality briar pipes.
Big Ben Cambridge 108 The 108 is a classic straight Billiard with a stunning 2-tone stain of black and chestnut brown, the pipe is finished with a marbled white Cumberland tapered stem and thin gold-coloured band.
Filter Choice The Big Ben Cambridge pipes can be smoked with a 9mm absorbent filter. The larger diameter of a 9mm filter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour. The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively, the filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
MARBLED STEMS: The marbled mouthpiece in this picture is a one-off and is unlikely to be the exact mouthpiece you will receive. There is a variation from pipe to pipe with substantial differences in colours, patterns and marbling.
