Savinelli New Art Smooth Briar Pipes:
The Savinelli New Art has got to be one of the most attractive and sophisticated offerings we have seen from any pipe maker for a lot of years with a very Italian boutique feel. The usual high quality briar blocks have been finished in a rich orangey brown stain which highlights the stunning grain beautifully. The stem is made using a new style that seems to be emerging from Savinelli with dark and light marbled colours with streams of semi transparent running alongside. The most striking element is the inlaid Briar section which is formed to the shape of the saddle stem and matches the Briar of the bowl before a final ring to match the mouthpiece.
We can't get over quite how stunning this pipe range is. If there is one thing that the italians have mastered it's style!
6mm Balsa wood filter
Unique to Savinelli is their Balsa wood filter system. The triangular shape does not form a seal in the bore of the pipe so allows an unrestricted full flavoured draw but the extremely porous and highly absorbent nature of the Balsa wood is very effective at removing moisture and impurities from the smoke. Savinelli include an adaptor for those who prefer a totally unfiltered smoke.
MARBLED STEMS:
The marbled mouthpiece in these pictures are one-off's and it is unlikely to be the exact mouthpiece you will receive. There is variation from pipe to pipe with substantial differences in colours, patterns and marbling.
