Savinelli Miele 6mm Pipes

Savinelli Miele
We always enjoy visiting the Savinelli stand at trade shows as there is always something a little different that captures our interest. The Savinelli Miele is undoubtably unique. Miele is Italian for Honey so it was instantly obvious why they have chosen a honeycomb stem, which compliments the light amber stain on the bowl beautifully and we doubt you will ever find anyone who can deny it beauty. What came as a surprise was the seasoning on the pipe. As you bring the pipe up to your nose there is a beautiful aroma of freshly finished briar and honey. We can only imagine how pleasant and sweet and smooth the first few pipe fulls in a Savinelli Miele is going to be. The Savinelli Miele 128 is a classic straight billiard with a slightly larger than standard bowl size and bore for a good fill. It has good thick walls on the Bowl, to prevent overheating and the stem length is a good length to give the smoke time to cool yet remarkably the pipe is very light. This comes from using only the finest briar available on todays market.

Honey Collector Pipe Tamper
And just in case this pipe wasn't enough of a talking point they have carried on the Miele theme and included a unique wooden pipe tamper in the shape of a Honey Dripper/Spoon/Collector (or whatever one is called.) We are not sure what type of wood it is made from but it is made primarily of a light Pine style wood to keep the weight down then appears to have a Briar plug on the base.

6mm Balsa wood filter
Unique to Savinelli is their Balsa wood filter system. The triangular shape does not form a seal in the bore of the pipe so allows an unrestricted full flavoured draw but the extremely porous and highly absorbent nature of the Balsa wood is very effective at removing moisture and impurities from the smoke. Savinelli include an adaptor for those who prefer a totally unfiltered smoke.

MARBLED STEMS:
The marbled mouthpiece in these pictures are one-off's and it is unlikely to be the exact mouthpiece you will receive. There is variation from pipe to pipe with substantial differences in colours, patterns and marbling.
