Savinelli Churchwarden Smooth Briar Pipes:
There aren’t anywhere near enough Churchwarden pipes on the market to satisfy desire so when we came across Savinellis offerings we snapped them up without a moment's hesitation.
They are classically styled Churchwarden pipes made using the same quality Briar that we have come to know and love from the italian master craftsmen. One really nice feature we like and haven’t seen before on a churchwarden is the flat bottom. This enables the pipe to be balanced upright. Please note the word “balanced” due to the length of the stem they will fall over fairly easily if knocked.
The Smooth range is the premium churchwarden pipe produced by Savinelli. Upon turning the Briar in the factory the finished bowls are graded and only bowls without any noticeable flaws and nice grain patterns are selected for the smooth range. This enables Savinelli to add a light Brown stain which not only enhances the grain but makes for a particularly striking pipe.
