founded in Liverpool in 1860 by Thomas Ogden, has a rich history. Initially a small shop selling tobacco, it rapidly expanded to multiple branches across the city. By 1890, Ogden’s operated six factories in Liverpool. In 1901, James B. Duke of the American Tobacco Company acquired Ogden’s, but it returned to British ownership after the formation of the Imperial Tobacco Co. The company shifted focus from cigarettes to pipe and hand-rolled tobacco, including the renowned St. Bruno pipe tobacco.
